I'm joining so I can go to school after. The job security certainly is nice though. I mean to have a guaranteed job for 4 years. Not a lot of people can make that claim.

i'm doing it for the job security, getting to do what i love and finish my BA and masters. plus renlist as an officer for better pay


its not for everyone, but i think its has many great benefits that are well worth it!

I think you are going to see less job security.

We now have a fundamental need to cut costs in the government, and frankly, military is job one for Democrats. With a Democratic Congress and President, and the dire need to reduce deficits, I just don't see the military coming away unscathed.

I think government job security in general is likely to be on the path to dwindlement soon anyway. The State's typically had nearly equal job security and that has now become a fallacy. With money the way it is, I don't think it will be long before the Feds are forced to follow suit.
