I really do like the EXTERIOR of the new camaros but the interior is HIDEOUS. If I was going to buy a GM 6.2 powerplant it'd be a G8 GXP.
Also, you guys can't compare a Mustang and a Camaro. A GT Mustang can be copped for $23,000. And you get like 330-340 horses. You're not touchin a SS Camaro with a 6.2 415 horsepower engine for under $35,000.
So by the time you have a $35,000 GT Mustang you could easily have somethin putting out over 500 horsepower.
On a side note, I LOVE the front end of the new mustangs. They look awesome. But the tail lights are SO SO SO hideous. Leave it to Ford to take an awesome design like the 05-09 stangs and ruin the body by slapping on those hideous tail lights.
IMO though, the most well put together muscle car revival is the Challenger. Gorgeous inside and out. A little big as far as size, but awesome styling, and awesome performance.
The Camaros interior is basically what kills it for me, and the Mustangs tails kill it for me. Seriously though if you guys get a chance, check out the G8 GXP on youtube.
The mustang is always going to be the best v8 bang for the buck. There are always forced induction options that are an awesome bang for the buck, ie Caliber, HHR SS, Cobalt SS, but if you want raw v8 power cheap, I'd go mustang.
I think instead of the comparision of SuperSnake, and 2SS Camaro, use this comparison instead:
Mustang SuperSnake
Hennessy Camaro
Saleen 570x Challenger

Another side note:
Like GM always does, they're not pioneers at what they do, they wait to see what everyone else does, and then tries to one up the competition.
Saying the Camaro took that long to build is FLAT ASS BULL SHIT. Transformers has been out for like 4 years, and they had a finished product then. The engine they're using has been out since 07 (but only used in Vettes 08+).
GM's doing with the camaro the EXACT same thing they did with the G8. Anyone remember the ad with the side by side comparison that GM did with the BMW 5 series?
Basically they waited for someone else to build a decent car, took one to their GM facility in Michigan and said... hmmm:
Well the 5 series has:
6 cupholders so we gotta have 7
X amount of leg room so we gotta have X + 1.
runs the 1/4 mile in x, so we're gonna build it to run x.
0-60 in x time for the bmw, so the g8 will run it x seconds faster.

Thats exactly how GM does things too. What happened to the 07 camaro, then the 08, then the 09? Then all of the sudden the Challenger is out, and holy shit all of the sudden GM has a car design.

I've been a fan of every gen of the Camaro, except for the current one.
The Challenger brings it home for this generation, imo.
I'd prefer a 300C or Magnum over the current gen Camaro too.
But no matter what, Camaro >> Mustang.

Why do you think the camaro for 2007 turned into the camaro for 2010?
When you watch and watch and see what ford's gonna do, then see what chrysler's gonna do, then write down on paper everything they did, and make sure statistic by statistic you do it better, then yeah, the camaro should be better.
It kills me that ford doesn't take the 5.4 ford racing motor and slap it into a mustang just to shut all these camaro guys up. Then you'd have something thats apples to apples rather then comparing something with 289 cubic inches (4.6 DOHC) with something that's 400 cubic inches (6.2L LS3).

KBB & Chevy's website both put the going price for a '10 1SS Camaro at $31,040, without options in my area. KBB & Ford's website both put the going price for a '10 Mustang GT at $28,845 without options in my area. You can tack roughly $3,000 on to those prices for the 2SS and the GT Premium, respectively.
