i am curious if their are any members who build and race lawnmowers on here?

i have a guy wanting to pay me to build him, one.. and i didn't realize this exzisted... untill now,,, it's kinda neat i think.

haven't you seen that episode of Yes Dear! where Greg and his brother in law were building a race mower in the garage to impress their kids?

I think there was even an episode of Home Improvement where Tim raced against Bob Villa.

Now are these races on a track or a straight line? Or is it a race to see who cuts a patch of grass the fastest? I remember seeing something like this on that show Junkyard Wars once I believe.

they have turbo mowers for dirt tracks and drag racing etc.. it's pretty kewl, they also had this on recriation nation not long ago

I watched a video about the world's fastest mower. I think he got it up near 100mph on the salt flats.

I think he used 104 octane with this set up. it's a small turbine from some sort of aircraft i believe.

The ones I've seen are on an oval track. If you haven't seen it, it's actually somewhat amusing. Oh god! I'm admitting to liking lawn mower racing... next, I'll trade the cb for a Ford pickup and wear overall's... NOOOOO!!

I wanted to pimp my push mower... I slacked in mowing the lawn, and it got really high, stalling my wimpy old mower. I made a thread about it

I ended up buying a Craftsman mower with double the power. No more stalling
