I like Cam'ron, Max B, Gravy, Gucci Mane/OJ Da Juiceman etc as far as new dudes go

For the old school I like CNN/Tragedy Khadafi, Mobb Deep, Biggie, Grand Puba, Wu (Ghost + Rae got me into making music), old 50 Cent etc

I'm an East Coast dude... dont really fuck with that underground stuff, I find it either too boring or too out there

They are pretty much considered Rap artists. Atleast to me. To me hip hop is about telling a story, something everyone no matter of race, color or gender can relate to. Rap artists pretty much talk about guns, drugs jewelery and smacking "bitches & hoes".

Don't get me wrong, i understand there are people that can relate to the rap lifestyle more than the hip hop lifestyle. They are just two completely different genres in my head.

There are diehard hip hop fans and diehard rap fans. I have nothing against anyone that makes, produces or listens to either kind of music. Personally, i'd rather be able to understand the artist and their point of view and the reason behind the song.

                Hope that makes sense lol.

P.S. i'm not "attacking" you or anything, Glory. Just wanted to point it out.

Again Lil Flip and TI are still considered rap artists. Probably anyone with "Lil" in their stage name would be considered a rap artist. LOL. I mean i listen to rap too, some songs have catchy ass beats, it's not something i dwell on though. So for that matter, i agree with you Lucky, TI is one of the better ones.

What a lot of people get mixed up is that Rap is Hip-Hop. Rap is a music genre and Hip-Hop is a culture. Most of the rappers that are out right now never really lived the Hip-Hop culture. They are just in it for the money. Studio gangsters we call them. Hip-Hop is not just about music. It's a way of life. It's Puma's, it's pin stripped Lee's, it's scratching, it's ghetto blaster boom box's. Thats all Hip-Hop.

Ahh not really. I don't like his style at all. To me his songs sound like they were made by a 3rd grader. Just my option. It's cool if you like him.
