Off Topic of CB7's... Gas Smell From GF's Mercury?

OK, this really is a technical question, but it doesnt relate to CB7's....

My girlfriend drives a 92 Grand Marquis, It seems as of late, there is a gas smell coming fromt he front of the car. I have noticed a gas smell for a while, and it seems to be coming from the front (engine bay area) but I am not sure. She hasnt said anything about real bad/unusual gas mileage (besides the real bad gas milleage the boat car naturally has). Anything I should check? I dont want her driving an un-safe car

Fuel lines would be the first thing Id look at. Happened with my ex's Camino when we put the new intake mainfold on. Didnt exactly hook up the fuel lines right

I think it was her dad that fixed that.. but I dont think this would help anyway since the Camino's carbed and the GM isnt

It seems to do it mainly when it is cold, or, at least that is the only time that I notice it.

There are no fuel puddles under the car from what I have seen, I may have to look under the hood to take a closer look

            sorry Woahna.

But I gotta ask is it the same girl that you broke off with for a couple months?

            Slap me later.

            Just wondering

Yeah, she is the the one. We broke up mid April, and then we got back together Mid August and have been together since.

I will check the injectors tonight. I hope they are not bad, new ones can be $$, expecially when with a V8, you gotta buy 8 of them suckers and she cant afford that right now

Well, I looked for a good amount of time, and did not see anything around the fuel injectors. I dont even see any moist spots around the injectors. I also checked under the car for the filler tube for the gas tank, and it all looks fine. I dont know what it could be.... Oh well...

I was, however, going to change her spark plugs, they havent been done in a few years. Should I just use the NGK V-Power plugs, or would something work better in a Ford?
