code violation, need help quick!

I got a notice this friday that my dog had been a year overdo for the rabies shot & tag renewal, so now they fined me $250 for 2 code violations. the vet (whos now deceist) never told me that when I give a pet rabies shots that I have to do it every year or Ill get fined!

what do you say I do? the dog is very old & has cancer w/ skin rash, so she dont have long to live.

how did you get a fine for rabbies being out? Did it bite someone or growl at someone?

The dog would have to be reported in order for you to get a fine...

i would find out where the fines cam from. I don't see what the big friggin deal is.

we had to do this to a dog when i was younger

x2. Here it's just "advised" to get rabies shots. But, it's only twice. Once when it's a puppy, then again once it's a year or two years old.

Pay the fine. If your dog doesn't have long to live, then you won't have to worry about being fined again next year. Maybe register her (it's $12 here... not a big deal) but the rabies shot might actually make things more difficult for her, if she's already not healthy.

I never registerd my dog. The authorities have no clue that he even exists. He doesn't get rabies shots often either... but he's a chihuahua. He doesn't chase anything, and nothing ever bothers chasing him. It's VERY unlikely that he'd get rabies. If he did, he has no teeth to bite anyone anyway!

Id say put her down, but apparetly, thats not a viable answer, so......

Pay the fine, as Deev said, and if she aint long for this world, you wont have to deal with it next year. Just remember to keep the next one up to date.
