defective motherboard idk? how old is the laptop? i'd call hp and it should be covered under a warranty..

u could also try switchin RAM? idk

Unfortunately, that's beyond my level of experience. I'm not sure how old the laptop is, as it's my friend's laptop. So I don't know the status of the warranty.

I have the same thing, and with some help from a friend at Microsoft, she says it's the harddrive.

But my laptop is a COmpaq, similar to HP.

Infact, it just crashed a few minutes ago.

Especially if im watching youtube or listening to music.

Mine doesnt show the BSOD, it just kaputs without warning.

I think it's the motherboard. Give HP a call. they'll need to service it. don't take it to best buy or w/e. Because they'll just end up shipping it to HP and then charge you double what HP would charge. Just eliminate the middleman.

Konigstiger and cvc7chris: I just tried running it from my laptop's hard drive and it wouldn't even start. It blue screened before even attempting a start up.

foamypirate: The BIOS doesn't seem to mention anything about sound so now I'm gonna hit Google hard for the location of the fans and how to access them.

Same laptop model number? If not it's because of hardware driver conflict (different drivers installed). If you have an extra HD formatted then go from there.

Problem solved its a HP.

If you can start it up in safe mode, then it's a driver issue. Download the latest audio driver and install that while in safe mode.
