4e-fte should be straight bolt in but toyota wiring has always seemed like a PITA
then if you want it to really zoom.. build a 5E bottom end (5E= 1.5>4E=1.3) and slap a bigger turbo or up the boost on the little one that came with the 4E.

for NA setup you should go with a 4A-GE 20 valve (black top one is better. ive seen the AFM on the silver top go out way too easy). it is not a direct bolt in as A and E motor mounts sit at different spots. and again wiring might be a PITA

transmission choices are really nice you just have to swap clutch housing between A and E series.

starlet GT is a fun car that never breaks and gets good mileage a tercel should be pretty close

lol i remember i posted a race i had with a turbo tercel. my auto h22 beat it but not by much..maybe a fender. and i think that guy was lightly modded. saw his car on some forum. toyotas are just great cars and have great potential.

yeah i think it would be kinda cool to put a few psi on the stock motor. Ive got some rims that will fit, I was thinking about satin black paint job, lower it, tint, small turbo. Just gotta figure out how to tune these things.

i'd just swap the motor. those motors suggested are dirt cheap. shoot its like buying a MKIII supra with the 7mge motor, the 7mgte is only like 800 bucks and the 1jzgte is like 1000 bucks. just do the swap lol

i dunno well see. I havent received the car yet, but it also weight 2/3 of our cars. but these things get 50+ mpg so im looking forward to that and driving the crap out of a 4 banger.

Just turbo the stock motor with a setup that could be duplicated on a different motor. Then you can run the piss out of this one and do the swap after, if need be.

j/y T25 or T3, or whatever you can get cheap.
sinklog manifold
SAFC
j/y bov, couplers, all that stuff ... just raid some SAABs and Volvos
j/y fmic, well a smic really.

I was running 15psi on my totally stock engine for quite a while before I parted it out.
