although kweli's album was hot i still say the production by high tech on his first solo album was betta same with mos def's new album (favorite mc) although im heavily into underground if ne-1 is missing that tribe called quest vibe check out a groub called little brother there rhymes are on point with some of the best beats by 9th wonder who in my opinion is the best producer out........and as far as jay-z i heard he was comin back as s.carter and dr. dre was going to produce but i dissagree with the statement hip-hop sux juss dnt limit yourself to garbage radio u gotta look for those new people as stated before atmosphere, truth-e-nola,justus league, cesar comanche, urban thermo dynamics.......but if not hit up that ill old skool common, mos def, kool g rap,big daddy kane, rakim cant stand g- unit all them awesome beats wasted on "so-so" lyrics sorry for the rant

the new nas tracks comin out are pretty good. "bridging the gap" was ok, not some of his best though. im liking mos def's "the new danger". and i like most of alchemists album, he's a good producer. but then again, ive always felt the d-block/mobb deep type beats.Last edited by DrLove'sKuDang; 11-03-2004, 10:27 PM.

So, it's hard for any rap artist to stay tight forever. I mean, I love Wu-Tang, but I doubt they'll ever come close to "Enter the Wu-Tang." The same goes for Mobb Deep. I mean, don't get me wrong, some of their new stuff I like, but when compared to "The Infamous," nothing they put out will be up to par. This is just my opinion, but I feel that Jay-Z is one of the last pure MC's. Sometimes his beats are questionable, but his lyrics always keep his songs together. I do agree with the fact that a lot of rap nowadays has lost its edge or "freshness." I still listen to old-school stuff like A Tribe Called Quest, Notorious B.I.G., old Nas, and old Tupac. Of course, I love my midwest music like Cap One, Do or Die, Crucial Conflict, and Twista. But, the bottom line is that quality music is out there, but it will never compare to all of the music that paved the way. Why do you think hip-hop is so popular now? It's because of all those artists that broke the mold and dared to be different."I'm out for presidents to represent me"

I mean i've kinda felt the same way lately. Went into the record store recently and came out with a 2 for 1 pack of blank cd's. I seriously couldn't find anything i was interested in. By the time i left the store i was like fuck it i'll just put out my own cd. Atleast then i'll have somethin decent to listen to!
I actually listen to the words of today's artists. I listen for consistency, complicated rhyming patterns, delivery, and overall message. Jay-Z, Nas, and Eminem are the only ones that fit the current category.Knowledge is power...in EVERY sense of the word

Each person has their own taste in music. Some like rock, some like rap, some like classical, some like the sound of two bricks being clapped together. To each their own; no use fighting over it.Former: 90 Accord EX Coupe, 93 10th Anniversary in Frost White

Whos fighting? Personally i like all types of music. One day i might listen to trance, another day rock, another day jazz, whatever as long as it sounds good. This thread is about hip-hop and i was just trying to expose people to artists they have probably never heard of. As for Lil Whyte, I was just comenting on how rediculous he looks on his album cover.
