freshly painted black tail gate just got scratches

^^^ , my uncle gave me his 07 avalanche tailgate to paint it, so all said and done , it was finished

now i am holding it for him in my car , i check on it and i find some scratches , minor ones, but very noticable b/c its pure black

can i use some turtle wax to get it out ?

i dont want to give him a scratched tailgate
he trusts me , he doesnt know >_>

you know how to paint, but you don't know how to remove scratches?

wax will not remove scratches, it only protects. you need abrasives found in polish for paint correction.

you can use scratch remover (it's a polish). i'd with mother's or meguires along with a micro fiber towel.

if you drag your nail across the scratch and it catches the nail, most likely you can't get it out. however, the look of any scratch can be greatly improved with polish. later.
