Honestly, this election was over before it began. The Freemasons decided that Bush would be in office again long before any of this started. False sense of Democracy is what I call it.

MTV is 100% liberal media propaganda. Just watch their 'rock the vote' crap. Its just trying to get young people to be swayed towards becoming liberals. I can't stand MTV and certainly avoid it now like I never have in the past.

I knew Bush didn't have a plan in place for the draft, but I assumed that his continuation of the war would eventually lead to it. I suppose I was misinformed!

I never really liked Kerry either, but I haven't been happy with the way things have been going under Bush.

Honestly, if he can do anything (meaning, "is able to do anything") about gas prices, education costs, and get out of this war ASAP (heightening national defense is cool, but keep it in the USA!) then I would be behind him 100%... oh yeah, the *** marriage things irks the hell out of me too, but that's personal (I have a lot of *** friends, and I really see no harm. Of course, I'm not an overly religious person, and I know that's where a lot of it stems from...)

Regardless, we have to make the best of it! The people have spoken!

i was brought up a christian and am proud of my faith( and im not gonna try and cram it down your thoughts, i hate people like that) and president bush is also a man of faith which i respect very much. he leads the country with morals( against *** marriage and abortation) which i think is very important, u can tell what kinda of person someone is just by there morals. i mean no matter who was president 9/11 happened and the gas would have gone up no matter what. also u read up on the facts about this war, u would see that more people die from smoking than they do in the whole time of the war. and we rnt world police we r just going after the people who destroyed the world trade center. but this is just my opinion, and if people didnt have opposite opinions this wouldnt be a free country. so thanks guys

            Here we go again

Most of you guys clearly have a substantial grasp on the way the world works.

Of course it is all Bush's fault. I mean the fact that the economic times are mostly a result of the Clinton Administration indicate clearly that it is his fault. Plus, the fact that American manufacturing jobs have been disappearing for DECADES (this is where a lot of the "job losses" have come from) is also a clear indication that Bush is at fault. Don't believe me? Ask any ECONOMIST worth his salt. Oh, and lets not forget that Sept. 11th had NO EFFECT ON THE ECONOMY WHATSOEVER!

As far as the "Middle America" votes go (yes I am talking to you ALB Accord), maybe it is you who is stupid. After all, I am able to compose a sentence in proper english, yet here you are attacking my intelligence...

If you want to support Kerry, go for it, but do it with a factual defense. (I am talking to all of you...)

Attack Bush's policies based on what they actually say, not what you read in some chat room full of 13 year old zit faced kids or MTV's website.

You want to attack him, get your facts straight. All you do with your made up facts is make yourself look like an idiot. It's really not that hard, the information is out there.
Try reading the Wall Street Journal, or go to the associated government website.

For instance, if you really want to know what is going on with the jobless rate, look up the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Guess what? It is all right there for you to read. It is factual, unbiased and true.

I have done a lot of reading and studying so that I could make the most informed decisions possible and I think it is pretty sad to be called stupid by a group of people that have NO CLUE how the world actually works just because I disagreed with them.

I encourage all of you to go get the TRUE facts. If you don't want to like Bush, fine, but please do society and yourselves a favor, make a decision based on how it actually is, not how you want it to be.

I don't like the fact that pretty soon we are going to be drilling for oil in ANWAR. I would like to see more government funding for hybrid technology and alternate fuels instead, but hey, nobody is perfect.

Oh, and by the way. I am not rich and never have been. I may be some day, but that is then. I am just a poor college student, like many of you, who has paid enough for my education to be a doctor of medicine (thank god for student loans):owned:. I have yet to see my financial aid shrink and I am just a middle class white kid, who would be the first to see the money go away. I have actually had increases in my eligibility. If I wanted to spin that, I would say it was because Bush was President, but the truth is, it happened because I became upper-class.

Besides, I guess the point is moot. The people have spoken.

By the way, I thought John Kerry showed extreme testicular fortitude today when he ceded the race without a horrible legal battle. THAT was in the best interest of the people. And he is right, the country is EXTREMELY divided and we have no choice but to fix it. Now the question is, can we do it?
The OFFICIAL how to add me to your ignore list thread!

No problem my friend. I have been defending this all year in school, in my poli sci class, and I shut down those liberals, so I figured I'd educate some people on this board about something republicans call facts.

birdman86, definitely man, im going to try and make it to MD meet. I never listen to any Liberal media, including MTV. Their station is so biased it isn't even funny. I do love what they proved though. That it doesn't matter what CELEBRITY you use to sway votes, it doens't work. America chose their leader, and I believe they made the right choice for this point in America's evolution as a nation.

Great Books to Read about the "other" view:

              3. Anything by Bill O'Reilly

Next few are to get a larger view of things:
              1. Al Fraken's garbage
              2. Hillary Clinton's New book

Deever man, it isn't your fault by any means. The media has done a great job @ twisting things in Kerry's favor including the one thing that would scare us young people. If you aren't REALLY up to date on every aspect of the election the "NO DRAFT" policy Bush stated would have gone unoticed.

I've been reading this thread with a lot of interest, and I agree that people make good points. However, I do think that a lot of the debate depends on what side of the fence you are on. Both candidates brought up strong feelings towards their character. What I mean is both Kerry and Bush had personalities, you either liked them or didn't like them, and I think a big deal of that was what made the election so heated. I know people that know Kerry and say he's slime, but in the same I can't stomach Bush. Personal opinion, forget the facts. The way a person comes across to me in a political way definitely plays a factor in all of this.

What interests me now is the whole religion issue. I'm not very religion (in a practicing, Church way, I'm not saying I don't have beliefs). I was raised Catholic, all the sacraments, everything. I do think that there is a very conservative view on the nation right now when it comes to things such as abortion and *** marriage. I find it funny that they're trying to use religion as a basis to make laws, despite the country was founded on people who left to avoid religious persecution. You have debates about banning the "under god" line in the pledge of alliegance, yet you're using a Bible definition of abortion and the word marriage.

While I do have a somewhat conservative stance on abortion, I do not feel its a black and white outlaw thing. I mean what about instances of rape, risk to the mother + baby dying, 12 year old girls, things like that. Those are reasons that I think do warrant that, an outside force if you will. Do I think it should be like a form of birth control, not really. Not when birth control is so readily available, but that's beside the point and another arguement.

As far as the midwest comment, I think that such comments should be avoided, especially since we have members here from all over the country.

However, I can't resist putting up this link. Please don't flame me for this tho.

I just hope that our president can do something to fix our nation, because I think we do need help. I don't think that John Kerry would have been the salve the nation needed either.

about the religion thing, our country is based on religion, 52 of the 55 founding fathers were christian men with christian morals, if u look closely at the senate building u will see that at the top of the entrance in the middle is moses holding the 10 commandments and the 10 commandments r in various other places in the senate and in court houses and i think it should. but yet again everyone has there opinion and i respect that which is why i wont flame anyone and i would hope that u all would give me the same respect

See, I do agree with you that religion does play a huge part in our society. I find it somewhat strange, becuase the reason America was founded was to escape religious persecution, but that's another debate. I just sometimes do not understand the double standard that exists in society. They tried to ban the "under God" line in the Pledge of Allegiance, as well as making prayer in school unallowable, but yet when it comes to issues like abortion and *** marriage, they are adherring to religious standards. I just find this double standard perplexing. Do you understand what I mean when I say that?

I mean I do agree religion plays a big part in life, whether you are religious or not. I am religious and all, but I am not a huge practicing Catholic, but I have nothing against really religious people. I have friends that are very religious and I completely repsect them.

I just do not understand the basis of some of the claims of the current administration.
