Have we all been taken for a ride?

Okay I think back when this whole import car shit started before the name jdm was commonly used. Has anyone ever thought that maybe weve all been had??

I mean comon honestly for people to dish out all this money to actually put it all in for fame. Just then to find out later on was it really worth it in the long run. Its all basically hype kind like politics. This one says that this and that is better than the other. Or maybe perhaps that this car is better than the rest just because its from japan.

Or retarded rumors saying that oh dont get this because itll break down without actually having drove the car. I think to myself time and time again what car would i have if i didnt go what i went through back then to be on top where im at now? Do you feel the same way?

What about just getting the car that you want not caring how anyone else feels? I feel that way everytime i see a civic or another car. I see them driving once they see my car they all gawk like they never seen an srt before strange

i dont care what other people think. i do what i do to my car because it makes me feel like i have accomplished something and because i like the way it looks i could care less what the next guy thinks but when i pull up to a store and someone says "nice car" it makes me feel good. but when my dad is like stop waisting your money on this honda car i say well i work for my money their for i can do what i want with it. idk some people are different i guess. some people buy the most expensive shit just to show it off i dont get it?

a lot of people make comments(specially online), about things they know nothing about or have heard somebody else say and then go around repeating it. Sometimes i wonder, if I had grown up around people that liked domestics, if i would be driving something like a mustang right now.

Any extreme statement regarding cars is idiotic.

Japanese cars are made to tighter tolerances than American cars, especially older American cars. Still, that doesn't mean that the American cars are garbage. Some are, yes... but it's a matter of careful buying, and careful maintenance.

My GTP didn't quite make it to 100k. There are GTPs out there with 250k that are modified and run hard.

My CB7 has taken some horrible abuse, and it has never once let me down. The only times it has ever broken, it was something that I did wrong. There are guys on here that have CB7s with half the mileage that can't keep them running.

I don't discriminate. I'll look into quality and reputation when buying a car, but I don't assume that everything from a certain maker is perfect. Honda has some very reliable cars... I DO trust most things that they make. But the 6th gen Accord V6 transmission issues show that even a reliable company like Honda can have some MAJOR engineering problems.

I'm planning on buying a Chrysler Crossfire this spring. I wish I could join you in SRT Land, Mike, but the SRT-6 is out of my price range! The Crossfire is a Mercedes Benz slk320. Well, 86% is. Basically, it's a Benz with Chrysler sheet metal.
However, a Crossfire compared to an SLK of the same year and model is about half the price! I'm taking advantage of the "domestic stigma"

I've also considered a Lincoln LS, Crown Victoria / Grand Marquis (I want a turbo'd one ), Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum, Cadillac CTS, Impala SS (the last RWD model), Caprice wagon (cuz they're badass )...

Japanese cars are good. Very true. But the fanatics take it too far.
