Calling all people who know law/insurance

ok long story short, a guy hit me who didn't have insurance, so i settled a claim in court and i won. he's agreed to pay me $50 a week.. not a big deal to me, but this is where it gets fishy, he requested to see proof of my payment for my car repair (first off all, i wasn't planning on getting the car fixed, its just a dent and i was going to pocket the money) is he able to request that? wouldn't it legally be my money to do whatever with?

If you guys have some kinda contract going and its not stated that you HAVE to provide proof of the repair charges then you dont have to.

i provided the estimate from the body shop when i filed teh claim in court. i've got no problem showing him the estimate, i just don't think i need to show him that i've paid to get my vehicle fixed.

I dont think thats his business, considering the value of your car is reduced. Get a free consultation from a lawyer.

If you already won the claim and he agreed to pay $50 a week in the settlement then you do not have to show him anything.. If the receipt from the body shop was part of the agreement then you have to show him. I doubt that was in the settlement... I would tell his poor ass the pay his $50 a week a mind his own business. You should not need a receipt ... Why would you need to pay up front for repairs that you haven't been paid for yet... I hate people who are to poor to have insurance... IMO if you cant afford insurance don't drive.... I drive in NH everyday and if someone without insurance hits me I'm burning down there house/ shack...

so i called the court and asked about the situation. since i've got the paperwork of him confessing judgement and the judge decided in my favor, i don't have to show him anything.

so hopefully soon he'll start paying me the $50 a week like he said he would.
