Just wanted to vent a little, but first I will tell the story. Well besides the CB I have a 76 Ford F-100. It was in a non-running condition for about a year(was on the road before that). Well I went and got a new intake and replace the old junled one that was the problem in the first place. Then got it running and it ran but not good. So I rebuilt the Holley 600 and put it back on. Then it was running alot better. Then we replaced the steering box but thats a entire different story. Well now the damn thing is running so rich(needle is stuck) fuel is just dripping out of the boosters. That and she is spitting raw fuel out the exhaust and pushing fuel out the vent on the choke tower. So I might have to pull the front bowl back off to see if any junk is stuck up anywhere and clean it again, btw I pulled the needle and it had junk in it. I'm guessing that all the sediment is just from rebuilding it and what I didn't clean perfectly. Just wanted to vent and here how many other people have had similar problems.

Yeah Edelbrocks are alot different than a Holley. Anyways today I'm gonna get new floats, and another fuel filter. Then replace floats and clean out the fuel bowls again. Hopefully that will fix it cause this truck is hella fun to drive.

If fuel is comming out the vent that means the float is stuck. Try tapping it
with the handle of a screw driver.
Did you use a holley kit when you rebuilt it? If not make sure you do.
New floats and needle and seats are a great start.
A New inline fuel filter after the pump is always a good idea.
May need to drop the tank and clean it out if this happens again.
Does it have a power valve? Holleys are notorious for power vlaves blowing out from any backfires.
I have been using a holley 750 on my 81 monte for 9 years and installing a powervalve protector is money well spent and lots of time saved.

What happened is that sediment got the needle stuc open so fuel just keep pooring into the fuel bowls. And I did use the Holley rebuild kit when I rebuilt it not even a week or so ago. Also yes it does have a power valve, and I got another fuel filter and order new floats today as well.

The fuel bowl fills first which is controlled by the float.
If it come out the vent the float has either sunk, got stuck or is maladjusted.
Always set float level first on any carb.
There are clear site glasses so you can always see where the fuel level is at but they go gummy with the alky in the gas and start to leak. (the local speed shop only told me this after I mentioned it to them, not when I bought them. (Use only for tuning and diagnosing)
Which series carb is it?
