well. after being on the phone for 48min and 21sec...

i found out im not getting the amount of money as stated on my tax return website.

i did my taxes for the 1st time by myself this year. had fun. all these other places were saying i was only going to get like $17-$25 back. all because i claimed 1 all year. everyone else claims 0 and get more money taken out to get a bigger return. sorry, i like all of my money now. not wait a full year and have to file paperwork to get it. but the site i did my reutrn on says im getting $377 back. heck yeah.

after i finish, i wait a couple of days and then go to irs.gov to figure out when ill be getting it. it says no later than February 24th. this made me happy. especially since i knew i was getting more back. yay.

2 days ago i check the irs.gov again just to be sure its not an error. this time....."you should expect your return no later than March 3rd." wtf? 2 days in a row i call and talk to someone(i didnt know they stayed open til 11pm. who knew?). i called a total of like 8 or 9 times. why that many you ask? because you have to go thru the automated crap. and if you dont press the right buttons, then you'll just get another automated message. i wanted to talk to someone.

so i just got off the phone with someone from the IRS. he actually goes in depth as to why it took longer. remember that tax rebate we got last year? i got back $477 for that. i put that i only got $350. like i said, this is my 1st time doing my own taxes. lol. i had no clue and i wasnt about to pay the companies like H&R Block and Jackson Hewett $90 on a return that i was only getting $17 back. he told me thats why it got moved back.

theres a good and a bad to this.

the bad: my return got reduced to $177-$179. sucks but its better than the $17 that H&R Block said i was getting back.

the good: im getting $177 back. and can receive an earned income credit of $27 in addition to that its not much but its something. lol.

so once again, my plans for my cb have been moved back. sucks, but a nice car takes time to build. id rather not rush thru this car being that its the best one ive had in the best condition. *sigh*.....Spec A-III, you'll be sinister soon enough....

That sucks but atleast you didnt have to pay like I had to one year which screwed my plans all up.

x2. I had to pay $18 last year and $107 year before that. This year I get $615 back. I don't know why it has varied so much, I haven't changed a single thing on my W2.

why even have h&r block do it, what a waste.

          TurboTax FTW.

Then again I try and get money back and somewhat lie. But SHHH. I'm getting 900$ even though I think I was suppose to pay

TurboTax has audit defense. Basically insurance/checks over your return to minimize getting an audit, and throwing up red flags.

                Sold, but not forgotten.

Who the hell does this? That is just stupid. Getting a refund is just like giving the federal government an interest-free loan. If those people want more money during tax time, they should just open up a high-interest savings account, claim the proper exemptions on their W-2s, and deposit as much money from their paychecks as would have been taken out from extra taxes. Then, they could get their money back at tax time, with no waiting period, and could earn some interest through the time they waited.

You do realize that the IRS can count too, right?

Um I'm getting back 917$. But since my dad owes 174$ ima pay it 4 him since he didn't claim me on his taxes wen he could've. So it leaves me with 700$. Pretty happy even though my fone bill is $490 (stopped paying it to get my cb9) .

                              Damn peeps!

                              TurboTax rocks!!

Ive used it since 2005 and it works great.

Im getting back around 3k this year. Didn't work much last year besides the National Guard and Jetblue for 3 months.

Trying to scam is stupid, sooner or later your going to get caught.
