    obd1 vs. obd2 cars

which do you think it's better and why...

im making the question as general as possible to hear what you guys think

which would you choose personally and why?

which do you think is better when it comes to :

    modifying? (n/a or turbo)

    passing emissions?

just for you to own for regular driving?

it seems like this is one of those topics where everyone i ask has a different opinion on, some say that obd2 cars transfer data faster, that they tell you what wrong, that if modded they are easier to alter so they can pass emissions with a good engine management system, and so forth.....

give me some pros and cons, i have been thinking about this long and hard, so talk to me

There are ways to get around inspections either way. Anyway modifying the less computer the better. Its that simple. OBD2 has potential but too much other stuff that interferes emissions wise and so on to do much. It is easier to pass though some flash programs have a force pass mode which is nice.

if you plan on doing motor work, obd1 is easier to tune.

      with obd2
lets say that you have an h22a4 which compression is 10.0:1 then you swap in a jdm motor which is 10.6:1

the obd2 will automatically compensate for the .6 compression added.
