You don't see a lot of those toys anymore because kids don't PLAY anymore. Everything is electronic... or overly regulated. Kids have to be sanitized, protected, informed, and guarded... or they get hurt, killed, or abducted. It's safer to plug them into the flatscreen babysitter.
