Rant:

I have noticed this more and more lately and just wanted to share the link with everyone for the Classified Section Rules

Rules numbered 6 and 8 are the ones that seem to be happening more and more often now. I am not going to name any names but it is NOT only newer members, there are just as many, if not more, members that have been around plenty long enough to be aware of the forum rules.

These two rules are as follows:

6. If you have multiple items for sale, you may only post up one thread at a time and list all the items in that thread in consideration for fellow cb7 members.

8. Please be descriptive in your Thread Titles as to what you are selling.


I have one FS thread with multiple items for sale, I bump my thread once a day and usually when I do it is from page 2 or 3.

Maybe it is just me that is annoyed by this or maybe its just because I have a FS thread that I am noticing this more now.

That's all. Just wanted to rant.

NOTE: The intent of this thread is only to bring the rules to the attention of this forums members. You agreed to these rules when you entered the password to get into the For Sale section. FOLLOW THE RULES!

No I really don't. I am not calling out the moderators, they do a great job with all the crap they put up with and deal with on a daily basis. I am simply hoping that more people would respect other members threads by following the rules and not burying the threads of those that choose to follow the rules. IMHO, It's much easier to follow one thread then it is to try to keep up with multiple threads.

its hard to make a "descriptive" title when you got over 50 items. plus most people only look at a forsale topic once or twice. so when you add more stuff to an old topic no one will notice

its hard to make a "descriptive" title when you got over 50 items. plus most people only look at a forsale topic once or twice. so when you add more stuff to an old topic no one will notice

How is "50 plus items" not descriptive enough? Anyone that is seriously looking for a part, will come back if they hear you have what they are looking for or will find the updated thread if they search. That would make too much sense though.

Mike, i see both sides here. Its a waste of bandwidth to sell 1 item per thread.

On the other hand, some ppl sell multiple items and "50+ items for sale" is a little vague. No one's gonna wanna look through 50+ items only to find nothing they want. "Buy my stuffs" wouldnt get as much attention as "______ F/S" or "BUY MY ______".

I guess I just see it as if someone is looking for something specific, they can always click search and narrow it down to only show results in the For Sale section. If you are looking for something JDM search the classifieds for "JDM." The tag search has not been much use yet since most threads still dont have them. That could help narrow down searches.

Seeing multiple items listed in a single thread might get some of the items, that would normally just be skipped over, some attention and get them to sell.

True, if someone wants to and/or needs to buy something bad enough they would not complain about going through multiple threads of 10+ items.

If I were to have one item for sale, my one item would be buried near the bottom of page 2 within 24 hours while there are multiple threads by the same member all above my one item. The more items in one thread the better the chance of your thread remaining towards the top if there are items listed that many people are intersted in.

It's more of an issue of common courtesy to fellow members who are trying to sell items, I guess.
