a friend of mind was in a similar accident, a girl in a civic smacked into the back of him while waiting for a stopped school bus. But yeah he said the same thing, that after getting rear ended his mustang wouldn't start either till they hit reset on the fuel pump.

if i can find pics of his accident that time, i think the damage was just as bad but they were able to repair it all.

later he cited for failure to stop at an intersection where a later also plowed into him but this time it was the front right passenger side. when the shop said that the passenger side door was pushed too far into the dash, then it was considered totaled.
