What kind of plant is this

Its dying and I don't know why and need to do some research but I can find out what it is... Its in a vase of only water (no soil)

Maybe it needs more fresh air and sunlight? Put it near a window. Also, maybe it needs to be in soil and is getting too much water? I heard that you can technically overwater plants.

Yea, you can overwater plants.. and I've never seen bamboo grow indoors like that.. my assumption is that its not getting enough light because the all the bamboo that I see that grow huge, strong and healthy are the ones that are grown outside. My guess is that you need way more sunlight for that plant.

I just moved it from my kitchen with a lot of light to the bed room with little light to see how it responds... The plant was originally in an office with zero windows so it had zero natural light and did great for five years.. Move to the house and started dying from then on...

My moms n aunts all have those. They add some green plant food to the water made for the bamboo from a Thai storeDo you smoke at home? Cause I gave one to my mother in law n it looks just like yours,she smokes in the house

Also, they always remove the dead leaves close to the stem. So clear that whole bottom section up. And snip any brown parts from green leaves.
