i normally say cheap springs or coilovers are stupid. but its a better idea than cutting springs.

this is retarted, if you have obviously made up your mind why are making a thread? to get an ok from us?

somebody posted about heated springs, thats worst and using a torch to cut them also. If your gonna do it make sure its like a cutoff wheel, heat changes the metals properties and you dont want that.

Half of you guys saying "dont do it, save up and do it right" have never ridden in a car that has cut springs, and are just reiterating what you guys have read.

And this is my winter beater, Im spending $0 other than maintenance. I just hate the 4 x 4 status it has.
Okay...every time I rode in my friends car with cut springs, his car hit the ground and my head hit the ceiling.

That's my experience with a car on cut springs.

haha you wanna knwo what it feels like.. take a speed bump at like 40mph.. thats what every little bump feels like... well atleast the vehicle i was in did (stupid friends never listen when told not to cut springs LOL)
You don't have to like what he did, but I would hope that you can appreciate the time, money and love that went in to the build. If you can't, you're not really an enthusiast, just another dumb kid with a car.-visualpoet

I've rode in a few civics with cut springs and it was the most horrible ride...

                    Stupid idea...

Even stupider that this is for your WINTER ride that will be on slick and icy roads

I say, no go, but you know how many people in tampa ride on cut springs....mostly everybody, and no saftey issues but bouncing like morons, they should be ticketed for impersonating lowriders, but tampa is Hondaville and most of them are on cut/heated/some kinda ricer cheap-ass crap that in the long run you will spend more money if not doen right....and also the car is always uneven, becuz depending on the car the springs may have gone even softer then they were, and you might have a worn shock and not even know it till you lower it...just my two cents.

p.s. i rode on heated springs for 2 1/2 years, that my mechanic made look like lowering springs after heated, and it was perfect for me...ask richie he rode in it once...i could cut people off like it was cake...but that was my young years...yea that was probrably stupid

and if its your "winter beater" then dont worry about cutting the springs
btw, your 240 looks like a winter beater, maybe you can cut the springs on both of them so they both look like shit
and i wonder how tuners get a bad name

chill the fuck out bro, just because your way of thinking isnt the same as everyone else doesnt give u the right to bash and degrade the person

                        bro cut them
also dont be stupid the next time, and dont make a thread about it, theres a lot of ignorant people here just waiting for somebody to make stupid thread so the can bash on it

i remember all the shit every one gave me whe i posted a thread about h22 intake manifold, removig the EGR, taking a saw saw, and cutting that portion
i went ahead and did it, and d112 is rocking it, no problems at all

remeber theres some people here that rather pay stupid amount of money, for shit that can be done

look i dont give a fuck what anybody says

i've had a ton of old school toyotas that had no aftermarket support and they all had cut springs and i never had a problem

of course if you cut too many its gonna be too low and bouncy, like coilovers arent??

my wagon had 3 coils cut all around with stock struts and that thing rode great so listen to what you want but i've never had a problem with being unsafe with my cars

and i've had 30 plus cars and i'd say 80% of them had cut/heated springs

and im not saying dont get springs, yes that would be best, all im saying is that i've never had a problem

                                learn how to read

once anyone mentions cut springs on here all everybody does is bash them

and the funny thing is that most of the people talking shit have never done or had a car with them
