Did everyone not see that. I have done the research, and know that the spring rate is progressive, the rebound and all that. I also understand the physics of it, but I have heard that some if them werent that bad. I have also heard that its bouncy as hell. Half of you guys saying "dont do it, save up and do it right" have never ridden in a car that has cut springs, and are just reiterating what you guys have read.

And this is my winter beater, Im spending $0 other than maintenance. I just hate the 4 x 4 status it has.

i did it when i had my civic.wasnt really bad ,but i only cut the front. 2 coils. didnt bottom out at all.
my bro did it in his 4 door teg.2 1/2 coils and it always bottoms out.sucks ass.
right now im riding on heated springs.idk if its safer then cut ones but it rides better.

Since you have your mind set on it, I'll offer this up.

You're going to want to cut the spring with a method using the least heat. probably pack them in ice water and cut the coil you want to cut with a cut off wheel or something.

Fuck it, Take the spring out all together... If you dont want to spend the few buck and do it right, then why should we care?

well get the fuck over it
no one wants to see you fuck up a cb
and if its your "winter beater" then dont worry about cutting the springs
btw, your 240 looks like a winter beater, maybe you can cut the springs on both of them so they both look like shit
and i wonder how tuners get a bad name

If u knew the physics of it u wouldn't be asking us about how they ride

That said I cut 2 coils on my Tanabe DF210s in the back... they were dead coils tho, meaning when the car was on the ground those coils were compressed together so they didn't affect the overall spring rate

THAT SAID, all coils on an Accord are LIVE, and the rate is progressive (pretty linear until u get down to the bottom coils).... its not worth it, ur spring rate will increase dramatically and handling will be unpredictable

U can get Maxspeed springs on Ebay for like $100 shipped... they are the same rates/drops as Neuspeeds... don't be a cheap ass

you could cut the springs and then we can see you a mile away when you're driving.

"Is that him? Yeah... he's the one in the bouncing cb7 that bottoms out on ever little bump in the road."

well let me be the first person to answer your question. ive been riding on cut springs for 2 years now, my car doesnt bounce or bottom out, u can ask fellow cb7tuner member kevin chinn and also fellow cb7tuner member mr Phil. i have no issues with it.
it can be done correctly if u dont go too low, but like everyone says it probably isnt safe.
if u do it its at your own free will. ive seen ppl with aftermarket springs that ride terrible.

so take from it what u will.

Do what you want. Hopefully I won't see a rant thread if you found some negativity on your process. If it went out well , then great job.
