How many miles did you have on it? How many are on your dad's Sentra? Basing your decision to never own a Honda on your experience with two vehicles is asinine. I've had cars made by several manufacturers (Toyota, Nissan, Dodge, Ford, GM, AMC) and I have been the most impressed with my Honda. Did you buy both of yours new and then take care of them the way they should be? It's not fair to denounce Honda for abuse and neglect that was done to the car before you got it. Maybe you shouldn't ever buy another used vehicle.

Before I knew about life-cycle costs, I bought a volvo XC90 (06) brand new. Nice price, but maintenance costs are killer. (ever tried changing oil in one of those?)
If you drive your 18year old car like a 2008, some of those worn components will give.
It's your choice and I wish you well, Law, but I dont think you are looking at the whole picture. MHO...
By the way, were any of these two hondas new? If not, what did the last guy do with respect to maintenance?

Depends how the car was taken care of
I killed my first CB at 110K miles... oil problems stemmin from being dropped too low
This new one... since I sorted out all the motor swap issues it runs like a top
Thats the key
I bet u had some shit to fix u kept putting off... or u havent been keepin up w/maintenance... somethin
Cars dont just die, esp. CBs

Aside from my hondas they barely died i had to try and keep killing it off. But when it died i was there for it in the end. You just gotta keep doing your part.
Talk to it wash it keep it clean make sure it eats. And at the slightest cough or murmur stay on it like flies to shit and it will take care of you. I was gonna get a nissan 240 but what can i say the neon with a heart of sonic gold owns me.

You decision is based on your own lack of an open mind. but whatever. get a kia as it was siad before. im sure it'll be the best car you ever had.....

wow my 16 year old power steering pump just died, what a cheap peice of crap, lol. How many other car brands can claim some of the things our accords have done. I bought mine brand new in 1992 done all scheduled maintenence mine is still going going strong, except for the power steering pump just dying. you probably didnt do anything but drive it and dog it,so dont blame honda blame yourself.Last edited by doughboy415; 12-23-2008, 07:03 PM.BUILT NOT BOUGHTOG OWNER,SINCE 06/1992

x2. Well put.
Just give up on all Hondas because -ALL OF YOUR CARS- (All 2 of them) took a dump on you. Thats a perfect thread to make in a Honda based community.
