We're not in a recession. An economic downturn? Yes, that's in full swing, but a recession is not the same as a down turn in the market. Besides, you can't look at one day stats and read the market, you need to look at long term trends.
Now, if any of the Big 3 go tits up, THEN that will set the stage for a recession to set in.
