Why does everyone want to rip me off?

Ok i was all excited this morning cause i was going to get my car lowered by this shop. Come to find out that they want 400 dollars to do! I almost shit my pants when i heard that. I would do it myself but i know ill mess it up. Also the guy said i absolutely have to get a wheel alignment with it. Is this true?

$400 doesn't sound highly unreasonable. many shops charge $75/hr to install parts you didn't buy from them. some shops charge more.
    at $75/hr, $400 is about 5 hours.

you can do it yourself, obviously for less, but it can be a pain in the ass.

a wheel alignment is generally a good thing to get after your car is lowered.

absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

ya you'll need to at least get your Toe set... Toe is where 75% of tire wear comes from... camber doesn't really hurt you that bad (plus mad negative camber looks bad ass!)

but if you lived around here my buddy lowers cars for $100...

Well, if $400 is the price, and it's the only shop that's reliable in your area you may have to sacrifice the dough for the job. I live in NY, and I got many price quotes in my area before I settled on a shop. What's funny is that I ended up calling Unorthodox Racing just on a whim (they are located on Long Island), and they did my full install, plus through on my momo strut bar All for $165 bucks. I got an insane deal, mad coo peeps btw, but you shouldn't be spending more than $250.

I live in a city of over a million people and i live about 10 minutes from d.c. so there are plenty of shops. Most ive called wont install lowering springs though.

what's up dude. u should do it urself. $400 for it its way to much. usually shops get scared when u say lowering springs so they tend to chanrge u more about the labor.

and yes after u install them u should get an aligment so u don't wear out ur tires.

by the way did u recive my payment on paypal for the throte body??????

Ive already seen that. It sucks. If i wanted simply instructions i would look at my haynes manual. I need detailed step by step instructions cause i know ill mess somethin up without it.
