    Computer nerds! Assemble!

I just took advantage of neweggs black Friday sale and bought stuff to build a computer. Tell me what you think...

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz Processor - $179.99

EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1 NVIDIA nForce 750i FTW edition Intel Motherboard - $169.99

    CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W Power supply - $104.99

Xclio coolbox advanced Case - $49.99

    SAMSUNG 20X DVD±R DVD Burner - $19.99

Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA Hard Drive - $59.99

    Vista Premium 64bit -$ 79.99

    Acer X193Wb Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD - $99.99

    OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 - $31.99

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler - $26.99

I also have an EVGA 7950 GT from another computer that I'm putting into it.

I think these should make a pretty good system. Now that I think about it, should have picked up another 2 GB of ram... I plan to overclock the Q8200 to at least 3 Ghz

Also got a free copy of Far cry 2 with the processor

Total cost came out to $859 and change, with shipping.

    Your geeky opinions?

Need more ram and does the motherboard support PCI-Express?

Nice, that's not bad. I personally don't like steel cases because of their weight.
I'd recommend you get some Artic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound since you're buying an aftermarket heatsink.

I can't wait until Christmas because I'm going to build a new computer with the Core i7
      .

I need some money too. My buddy gave me a Asus AMD motherboard Dual Core for free.

I just need the money to put it together.

Would have shelled out more for a better case, more ram, a better LCD and better mobo. I personally prefer Intel chipsets. I don't know much about the quality of EVGA mobos though.

          For LCD's there's a new Dell 23" that's 1080P for about $300 (S2309W). That's a good deal. Then again I'm spoiled and won't settle for anything under 20" with good picture quality.

Yeah I should have picked up another pair of the OCZ... It has 2 PCI-E 2.0 ports. When I get some more cash, I might pick up a pair of 8800 GTs and SLI...

For the price, this case was the best looking IMO. I have an older model of the same thing, and its not too bad...

Also I have a tube of arctic silver 5 from other builds. :

              Its done!

              mmm UV reactive...

              I have the Q8200 overclocked to 3.0 gHz, 24-hr prime95 stable too!

Id go higher, but at 3.2 I have to raise the voltage atleast .04 volts and that puts the 100% temp to about 75-78 which is to high for me...

If I ever get a water cooling unit, ill take it higher!

So far it seems to be doing fine with 2 GB... Ill upgrade it with a 2x2 GB Dual channel kit here soon, giving me 6 GB total.

Runs HL2 EP1,2 and portal all at 30-75 FPS! 4x AA too!

Just the part about the overclocking and if you increase the voltage that will increase the temp

man.. i've been building one for a long ass time, all i need to get it running is a processor.. and to pull a dvd/cd rom drive from my old computer and put it in.. ^_^

anyways, its all sitting in brand new pieces in bags/boxes so my mom got her boyfriend to bring me a motherboard with a processor on it already and some ram, so i go and put it all together, opening my new bags and stealing some of what i need from my new parts ~_~ and the ram he brought is corrupt or some shit, cause all it does is beep at me and the little orange led by the ram is lit up >_<

the ram i bought for my motherboard is at my dads and the rest i all up here.. but it sure looks pretty and sounds sick when i turn it off
