awesome! i don't play (yet), but i'm planning on picking up a guitar this holiday season as a gift for myself... i was thinking an acoustic.

i'm a complete guitar noob - how about that electric acoustic? how is it both electric and acoustic? how does it sound when it's hooked up to an amp? like a regular electric guitar?

It's an acoustic by shape and design....it's completely hollow in the body.

However, there have been some electronics added that make it an electric as well (which just means it can be plugged into an amp, but has no effect on the sound).

When it is plugged it, it sounds like an acoustic, but amplified by the amp. Of course you can play around with the electric signal a little and get some sounds out of it that you would not normally be able to do with a straight acoustic, but it is still an acoustic and still sounds like an acoustic plugged in.

the iceman series were pretty nice
i wasnt much of an ibenez man but i always liked the see through iceman
i have a plain black and white strat that ive had sense i was like 12 and its in horrible condition
and i have a steel string montana sunburst acoustic which i dont play much
oh and a peavy 212 transtube amp that i have no use for and paid 500 bucks for
so if anyone may need one....????

ya i think so.. lol i didnt talk much, any way i just have a cheap yamaha and a cort effector electric. Dont play much anymore
