Start early.
I mean, like....early. Packed, gassed, caffeinated and on the road by NO later than 6.
Early morning driving is pretty painless compared to late afternoon driving, so try and maximize it.2003 Maxima SE Titanium Edition

I've been on so many long distance trips ever since I got my license which was about 2 years go. I think it's just awesome to be on the roads with your friends. Before you leave make sure you check your oil, tire wear, your spare tire and brakes. Usually this isn't so necessary when you're car is brand new, but I believe you are leaving with your CB aren't you? I drove mine back from Florida where I've purchased it and although it wasn't in its greatest shape, it did the 23 hours trip with no problems. Make sure you bring a lot of fluids to keep yourself hydrated, some munchies and perhaps a pillow to put behind your back. Take a break at least every 2 hours of so. If you really feel tired, take a 15 minutes nap. That is basically to trick your system . Rolling down the window and putting loud music on to wake yourself up doesn't work. They're nothing but myths. Good music is also something you'll need not to get bored to death.
