x2. Haven't even sat in a cb for the longest time.

I believe the button on the dash needs to be pushed first if it's anything like the Integra.

AH! Basic tool set, didn't think of it, great idea though.

But all is well I see. I don't think I could enjoy it quite that much though.

lol, you're lucky to be alive if you were going 120+ in an old integra for an hour!

lol, the alternator belt would be the last thing on my mind. If anything happens at 120mph, even a blowout, you're more than likely going for a ride. Specialy if it is on a curve. I wen't 140 in my civic one time and decided I would never do it again. If there is one thing I've learned from racing is that you go from in control to upsidedown before you even realise what happend.

I like to take my road trips starting early in the day depending on how long. Usually before the sun rises is a good time. The preliminary checks I do are tire pressures, fluid levels, and make sure I have needed items if I break down (spare tire, jack, tools, etc). Usually I do that the day before then the next day wake up early...get me a mini cooler and fill it with drinks and a small afternoon snack. My schedule usually ends up everytime I run out of gas I go use the bathroom...Thats just me sometimes you gotta go lol. Make sure where your driving through there is a gas station nearby also I almost ran out of gas somewhere in the middle of arkansas one time around midnight and not a lot of gas stations were open then and there werent a lot of travelers. Another thing if you can is to bring a buddy along that usually makes for a good ride. Sometimes boring but it will keep you awake. Another thing is burn Cd's or if you have an Ipod that works too. Other than that just have fun on the trip.

I will be driving to Vegas to SEMA with a few other friends from Dallas in a few months.

Plus all the usual's - oil n filter, tyre pressures, spare tyre and jack etc

I used to drive 6 hours to Toronto every month or so. I could drive for four hours before stopping. I only had to stop because I wanted to refuel in NY rather than Canada because it's cheaper in NY.

The longest road trip I've been on is 26 hours. North East PA to Key Largo in 26 hours and 1,344 miles. There were three drivers and we rotated in about 6 hour shifts.

                      Here are some tricks:
1). good nights sleep - go to bed early
2). wake up early and start driving as soon as the sun is coming up. Driving while it's light out makes it easy to stay awake.
3). Stay away from caffeine until night time. Caffeine only makes you piss more frequently during the day. Furthermore, after about 6 hours you crash and get really dopey/sleepy. It's much better/more effective to wait until the sun is setting to break the caffeine out.
4). Check tire pressure. Stay within the max PSI.
5). Change Oil/filter if it's about time. Fresh oil = higher MPG.
6). MUSIC. I liked to load up an MP3 CD with a bunch of stand up routines. Audio books are another good way to kill time. I almost went as far as loading only movie sound onto a cd. If you've seen the movie before you can imagine the visual :P
7). Stay away from t-shirts with pictures and text on the back. Can cause hot spots on your back and cause you to sweat more. This could be itchy and uncomfortable.
8). Pack some fruit. Fructose is pretty much brain food.
9). Stay within 5mph of the speed limit. Speeding will kill MPG and won't get you there much faster. Plus if you get a ticket you're not going to be able to fight it without a huge drive.
10). Check all lights, blinkers, etc. Check wipers.
                      11). Check fluids
12). If you have a washable filter, clean it before leaving. This will help fuel efficiency.
13). Don't use acetone to "boost" MPG. It doesn't work.
14). cracking the windows will be a better way to cool yourself down rather than AC.

                      Hope this helps!
