pictures of cars with blurr plates

Why do we do this. I even done it to some of my pictures but found it really useless. What service out there do they offer where they will give out your address? If someone really wants your car. they'd follow you home and take your stuff regardless.

When some guy on the street sees my car, I didn't just walk up to him and hand him a typed mod list detailing everything that's on my ride. He might think I have something, but he doesn't know. It's just another tiny bit of discouragement. I agree that if they want your shit, they'll get your shit, but anything you can do to make it more difficult helps out. Even though you can't just go into the DMV, plop down a few bucks and get an address to go with a plate (in most cases, there still may be a couple states that will do it, I don't know) there are shady people out there that would see your car and recognize the plate number. At least without the plate it's not necessarily the same ride. Unless you've got a heavily visually modded car that's unique and easy to ID.

With your plate I could find out your address, registered owner, when the plate expires. I could even find out if you have insurance, when it expires, policy number....

If I wanted to of course...

I can call the cops and tell them you hit my car and ran away, I tried chasing you but I don't have vtec.

I never block my plates, I'm hardheaded though.

I do it. There are enough scam artists out there why make it easier for them?

If I wanted to, I could take any car's plate and find out their address.
If I can do it, don't you think theives can do it?

Hell... take a look back at one of Jed's threads.

He wanted someone to look up a plate for him from a hit and run, and he got PMs and replies in his thread.
He found the address within hours of posting.

Calling in stating that someone hit your vehicle don't give the dispatcher the right give you the other persons info. I know. I'm a dispatcher.

They'll have to send out an Officer to take a report. That is all they can do. The only way I know of how someone attaining someones address through plates are if you knew someone from the inside.

A lot of forums require you to post your vin number when your selling a vehicle... That is just the same as you posting your plates.

I have "people" who can look that shit up.
They can also find your address via cell phone number.

I can because I have the resource to do it. I'm a dispatcher. I look up things all the time.
