    Looking for a rifle (and suggestions!)

    I just wanted some suggestions as far as rifles go. I'm looking for something reasonably accurate, larger than .243, preferably no wood stock (Black with a stainless barrel would be nice). I'd like to stay away from Remingtons.

    Any suggestions? I have no idea where to begin looking, and the closest gun shop is 50 miles away.

    just curious, why not a remington?

      Every time I've fired one, there is just something that just doesn't feel right, for me. I'm not really sure why.

        Well, I think I've narrowed things down to a Marlin XL7 in .270 Winchester. Any thoughts on this rifle?
