I saw Atreyu last Christmas...

Their screamo guy had issues. He had like no voice and couldn't do anything on-key because of it. Their drummer/singer was pretty good though, considering when they record it's separate, and he was doing both at the same time, sounding almost as good.

last month i went to NYC to see coheed and cambria play two of their four albums live, from beginning to end. it was pretty epic.

i only went for the first two nights - second stage turbine blade on 10/23, and in keeping secrets of silent earth: 3, on 10/24. the first night, second stage, was by far the best of the two nights i attended.

Gotdawn, I'd love to see that. Wow.

anyone here who is an avid fan of live music, and attends shows more often than not, why not RECORD the music?

You can get good digital recorders with built in mics that record at 24 bit / 96 khz (in other words, VERY high quality). many bands are cool with audience recordings (audio only). A lot of the bands I see listed are doubtful to have even a single taper in their crowd, so how the hell are all these live shows going to be documented in history? Look at the Grateful Dead, for example... if noone ever taped them, most people would not know of them (or as much of them) as they do now. 95% of the Dead stuff people listen to is recorded live, and many times by fans.

I tape and photograph every show I go to. It's a blast.
