Yeah, I did a project on this... they added it so the milk would look less watery.

this happend awhile ago the head guy of food safty in china stepped down and quite 2 weeks later and said nothing and has yet to say anything. 5 babys("reported"most likely higher amount)died form the contamination. and there was a very large amount of baby sent to hospital because of it. its crazy that it wasnt a confined contamination to just one factory, but many many factories and not just milk but other foods and even chocolate. crazy stuff

they had issues with melamine in the philippines not to long ago.. china started importing products with melamine which resulted in an entire lockdown on the products until the DOH tested the products..

This story is from August, but certainly a tragedy...60,000 babies hospitalized.

melamine was not only found in dairy products, but in raising agents, baking powder as well..

yerp, biscuits, cakes, you name it.

they added melamine to 'cheat' the nutrition tests, to get more 'protein' since both are Hydrogen-based.

this is like old news, many supermarkets have removed affected products from the shelves since last month

I've been waiting for PowderedMelamineMan to come out of hiding, that coward.

Have they stopped the melamine in China or is it still a threat? I'd hope the government would jump all over that.
