Haha im old school I love those guns but I love lever action rifles. Wouldnt mind an auto rifle. I would prefer an AK. Only bad part is the AR is usually more effective long range than an AK haha.

How does the dpms compare to the colts? Other than price of course.

biggest difference is value. Granted any ar-15 will be worth something in the future. Colt will hold the best value. Bushmaster is second. I think all of the components are more or less the same. Years ago I think Colt made the best AR-15 in terms of reliability. By now, everything should be more or less the same I think.

after doing a lil research before buying I found that Colt held the patent on the design for so many years. Once that was up other companies started producing them. They are all built the same, parts are interchangable. So buying a Colt over a Bushmaster/DTI/DPMS/Stag, that extra couple hundred is just for the Colt name.
