Buddy of mine has an 06 SS.
    The car is great.
It's built pretty solid, and definitely has some nice "pep" to it.

Only problem he's had out of it is a leaky sunroof.

    1999 BMW M3
    2001 Honda CR-V SE RT4WD
    2005 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71
    2015 Suzuki V-Strom 650

Damn leaky sunroof, not to get off-topic but some of the srt4's have leaky sunroofs aswell which is why i never bothered to get one with a sunroof. I barely see any trace of the saturn redline.

He's had his sunroof replaced twice already.
He went back a few days ago, and they refused to fix it again (even though it's still under warranty).
He's called GM several times, and they said most Chevrolet cars have leaky sunroofs and that they'd go into debt replacing all the sunroofs.
So, he hired a lawyer yesterday... we'll see how far that gets him.

The new turbo ones are good from what I heard

For the regular versions I would go w/a Corolla or something though

                  Nothing.
                  The Ions' doors are plastic.
It's to keep them dent free.

My roommate's ex g/f had an Ion.
You can throw footballs at the doors without them denting.

I heard that the cobalt ss has very good ratings. Not sure though.

i had a chance to test drive the ion redline on an autox track as well as on road. The car is a joke. one word..plastic. The cobalt SS is a much nicer ride and quality of build. still not my cup of tea

Cheap! meaning poor materials, poorly built. The engine might be solid, but why pay for half a car

I think those cars are junk. Just get yourself something 'import-made' that has decent power, and manual transmission. I'd rather take an N/A stock Accord 5speed, than a POS 'american tuner car' that would be worthless after the warranty expires.

                              Prev CBs:
                              -'93 BRP LX 4AT
                              -'92 AGP LX 5MT
                              -'93 AGP EX 4AT
10yrs after my first cb, I'm still driving one!
