Found Out That I have Land!!!!

I was talking to my father and he told me that he bought me and my lil bro 2 acres of land. That doesnt sound like much but I hardly know what an acre of land looks like. If it is as big as I think it it, one is fine with me but if not, two should make up for it. Me and my lil bro are wanting to build a race circuit out there. I like going to the tracks to watch people race but watching someone going in one straight line sometimes gets boring, No offense to those who like that. I know that the land is down in Brownsville,TX. Tell me of the Idea. I want to hear opinions on this.

Congrats! You and your brother have enough land for a football field, bleachers and a concession stand. Still, even if you can't build a track, you could slap a house down on it.

You'd need all sorts of permits and stuff to be able to build a track as well, especially if you're going to have people other than you and your brother racing on it. Believe me... I've considered doing this myself!

Exactly the permits and the cost usually throw people off on building any track. A go kart track is more feasible. Most of the issues people have are noise issues. An example will be SAR where you arent allowed to run open header after midnight. So yea noise is one thing to consider for your neighbors unless you have enough land for people not to give a fuck. Noise travels faster on flat land =D.

That's good news. Use the land to build yourself a paintball gun spot, depending on where it is it could be a good business...just an idea

an acre of land is great, a lot of farmers here would love to buy that land if it were here lol some places have enough land for days. My mom has about an acre. Her land goes from the street she lives on to the street behind her house, it's a bitch to mow during the summer!!

like everyone else said, an acre is good size to build a big house, 2 acres, you are looking at a nice house and nice garage and plenty of parking for all the other toys

That is awsome that you have been given that land! I wish my folks did that for me. If I were you, I would get a loan from the bank and build one of those pre fabbed homes. No like a single wide trailer, but an actual home. They basically build all the walls and pieces of the home in a shop then truck them to the site. It makes for a CHEAP house and it doesnt take that long to build from start to finish that way. See now you would have land and a nice house for cheaper then you could have just the house! Imagine the possibilities!
