Space debris to slam into Earth........

    http://news.aol.com/article/space-st...551x1200752764

Yea so a 1400lb tank of amonia coolant the size of a fridgerator is suppose to renter the Earths atmosphere.

    yay!

I realize that they can't hold on to everything and that usually it ends up burning up upon reentry but can't they find a way to better deal with this?

It doesn't happen often but all it takes is that one time it lands in someones living room.

    Eh whatever, im hungry.

            Yea i was wondering that.

I believe because they don't have the room to store all the crap they don't need untill they get back to Earth.

But there should be some process of dismantling or destroying as much as they can before they release it so there is no need to worry "will it" burn up upon reentry.

And of course being an amonia storage tank is that safe to burn up in our atmosphere???!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Forget about contributing to global warming from the ground... we're gonna attack the upper atmosphere directly!

meh. I survived Skylab falling out of space.

They said that any pieces making it to Earth will most likely be smaller than 40 lbs and will impact at about 100 mph. That doesn't sound too bad. A dorm fridge falling off a tall building will be just about as deadly.

                  lol

                  Basically.

It must be nice that when your a federally funded agency with billions of dollars you can about do whatever you want.
