Nice pick up Deev, you deserve it
Prob. more practical and fun to drive than the GTP. How did you manage to lose the GTP? Straight up trade or you sold it?

My first color choice was actually Blackberry Pearl... otherwise known as purple. It's the most uncommon color, though... and it was hard enough just finding ANY base 5 speeds in stock! I had to go to West Chester, PA to get this one as it is!
I traded the GTP. Took a whopping loss of $4800. So basically, I'm financing a new Civic Si, and I got a Fit.
With less than half the horsepower, and a fraction of the torque of the GTP, the Fit actually moves pretty well. It's far from fast, but the manual transmission makes it feel zippier. It's also 1200lbs lighter than the GTP, which makes a pretty big difference! The better handling of the Fit also makes it fun. I honestly don't miss the GTP at all. The thrust of the supercharger was nice, and the Bose system was fantastic... but I can do without those two things. The Fit's CD player plays MP3 CDs, and it has a jack to plug in my MP3 player.
I plan on HIDs for it soon. OEM alloys, lip kit, and spoiler... Basically, turning it into the Sport model that I couldn't afford. I may add a K&N filter, but that's all the engine mods I'll do. I don't plan on lowering it, though other chassis upgrades may come someday.

Seems like 40mpg to me!
I do 200-300 miles a day, about 2/3 highway. However I had it reading about 53mpg while driving a steady 50 or so (down Delsea Dr, I went looking for you at work, Sandman! )
But yes, it is indeed an 09 Fit. Base model... the Sport model was too much. The base model has power locks and windows, as well as an MP3-playing CD player. The extra stuff on the Sport would've been nice, but the base model suits me just fine. I DO want to put on the Sport wheels and kit, though. This thing gets squirly at highway speeds!
Crappy nighttime pic from when I first got it. I have to wash it before a camera sees it again!
uslspct has black already... and he lives 3 houses away from me. I couldn't be a copycat! Plus, I searched EVERYWHERE for a 5 speed base model... I just took the first one I found!

Yeah. Not so much wandering, though... it gets blown all over the place by trucks and stuff! It's too high, too light, and doesn't have anything to generate any sort of downforce at speed. I think the Sport lip kit and spoiler may actually help.
I'm also used to the heavy-ass GTP with blown suspension, and my CB7 with no power steering and a great suspension... so the Fit's steering (with the too-easy power steering, unfortunately) is kinda foreign to me yet.

WOW! Congratulations on the new car. With driving so many miles a day the fit sounds perfect. Do you have any plans for it? I know the basics don't really hurt gas mileage. If you have a warranty (which you probably do), will any modification void it? I'm just curious?Been a long time. Still alive...

The new body style is really starting to grow on me..plus I really like the fact that they added a navigation system finally as an option.
I heard more JDM models are probably going to see a Stateside release. And not to mention Honda is in the process of building another factory somewhere in Indiana.
Now if they would get smart and start importing these
The Honda Airwave.
