    possible new(er) car...!!!

Well my honda has served me damn good for the last 5 years, but things are starting to constantly break on me, and i dont want to put any more into it. I'm on a tight budget but have narrowed it down to a few cars.

    1) mkIII supra turbo-
good power, and one can be had with soem good upgrades for a good price. Turbos are good stuff. Targa tops are cool, too!

    2) early nineties 240sx-
great car, girlfriend used to have one and i loved it. Rear-wheel is a must for me now, sliding around is too much fun. A lightweight car that you can throw around with ease. Good feeling of balance too.

    3) early nineties rx-7 turbo- again, turbo is good as long as its new or recently rebuilt. Small, lightweight similar to 240sx in feel, and rotary would be someting new and fun to work with.

What do you guys recommend? If anyone has had first-hand experience with the supra or rx-7 let me know. A purchase may be just around the corner if price is right. Convince me of something!!!! I will not buy a civic, damnit!!

I had a former boss who had an mkIII supra, and I will forever have a soft spot in my heart for those cars. They are pretty cheap, and can make lots of power with not a whole lot of money. My vote goes towards the MKIII.

Go with an older Nissan that was actually made in Japan. Not like these HONDA'S that were built in OHIO! I find that cars made in Japan have better build qualities.

mr2's are actually not that light, around 2700lbs. but rwd, 200hp.

I'd go with the 240 myself. The only downside is the trendiness of it, so it would be like driving a Civic 3 years ago. Still, they are good cars with LOTS of performance possibilities. They look nice, and have great aftermarket support.

The mkIII supras are nice, but they are never given the proper respect in the shadow of the newer model...

rx-7s are sweet, but muy expensive to buy and maintain (turbo model... NA is worthless, IMO) They make so much heat that they need to be modified to withstand any sort of hard driving. If you get one that hasn't been modified or rebuilt, then expect to rebuild it before doing much else. With enough money, they are amazing cars. Not for someone on a budget though. Much higher maintenance than the CB7!

MR2s are cool. Early 90s turbo. Thoroughly impractical for anything other than being a sportscar (much like the RX7) but very nice. That would probably be my second choice. The aftermarket is stronger for the 240 though.
