"Turn down" mufflers

Anybody know what I'm talking about?

I remember seeing a picture of a muffler tip that in stead of sticking out straight, it's cut and welded to face down.

I'm trying to find one online now...

Usualy turndowns are used for people running open downpipes or on race applications. A turndown at the end of the car would be pointless.

i agree its kinda pointless at the back of the car, but I did mine just for the hell of it. Couldnt find a tip that I liked....

turn downs are baller.

talk about stealth if your cars fast and has a somewhat quiet exhaust.

we had a 4" turbo back exhaust on a 35R civic, with a flat black turndown

my buddy has a 93 blazer on 20"s with a flowmaster 40 series 1 in 2 out with turn downs...it sounds great...has the 4.3 vortech from a 96 model...it will turn them 20"s over nicely...i know its off topic but thought id throw it in there...

my friend has turndowns on his mustang GT.. he got the turndowns and put a v6 bumper (no cutouts for exhaust) so it would look cleaner.. sounds fuckin mean too..

When I had my foxbody, I had flowmaster 10 series (single chamber) with dumps right before the rear axle. Shit was fuckin loud...but it was sooo sick!
