need help burning a AVi into a DVD cd

i have a video clip that's AVI and it's around 500mb big that i need to burn into a DVD! i downloaded NERO 7. and it won't let me burn it!

how do i do it?

or do i have to convert it to something else?

and DVD's are suppose to hold 4.7gb or w/e

i only had roughly around 800 or 800 MB! and it said it was FULL!

i got WINAVI! on my computer ( i totally forgot about it)

im not converting it to MPEG! it's 50% done

make sure your drive is burnable
mine wasnt for a while lol

then you should be able to take the movie from your now playing list on WMP
and send it to the burn list
and burn away
