Why do children shriek?

It seems that children's programming these days actually caters to a short attention span. When I was a kid, you had to pay attention to Sesame Street, or you didn't know what the fuck was going on!

Speaking of Nickeloden..did anyone notice that GUTS finally came back and then it also hit me they haven't had game shows on Nick for about 5-6 years now.

Mike O'Malley the original host grew up in the same city I live in here in NH and he went to a private highschool about 2 blocks away from my street.

I think the level of shrieking is inversely proportional to the IQ of the parents. They simply haven't been taught not to.

Thats kids for you...and theykeep doing it because the parents dont stop them.

Just think about this Mike, as you get older they'll "get worse". NOt only will you be getting older, but kids really are getting worse. I look at how kids these days, 13-17 act and look at kids acted when i was that age.....its horrible. My 8 yr old cousin knows what porno is for Christ's sake. She's also been threatened with death by other schoolmates....yikes!

None of my 4 kids shriek, although the four year old girl can, occasionally, shatter fine crystal when the mood hits her. I saw a child (girl, about 8ish) the other day walking around in our complex, just screaming. She wasn't in pain, angry, hysterical, scared or in trouble. She was just screaming. I watched her stop, talk to another child, and then pick right up where she left off.I was going to ask her to stop, but she was outside a vacant apartment where one of my guys was working, so I let her be to liven up his afternoon!

42 here ,living with my girlfriend and no kids of our own. we can borrow kids for the evening or a full day but have the option of returning them at the end of the day.
