Why would insurance drop me, rofl..... That was just about the stupidest comment made in this thread. I just stated the outcomes, insurance has nothing to do with this Period. Not even his insurance company, the only thing they'll see is when it eventually goes on his record they'll see it.Originally posted by deevergoteI'd eat a baby for free. I'm hungry, dammit!

Your car would technically need to be insured by a company that will cover ALL COMPONENTS in it and being custom they would have to cover it for the total amount put into the car.
Race cars are a bitch to insure BTW...
Yeah my insurance company wanted to drop me because i thought my car had airbags and ABS but didn't. Instead they altered the policy for me.
BUT you may not have the same problem in Canada... IDK.

Ok did you also miss the part that this has nothing to do with my insurance company......?? Clearly they've already insured me.Originally posted by deevergoteI'd eat a baby for free. I'm hungry, dammit!

They want to never pay you but take your money. If they think you are more likely to get into an accident than someone else they can drop you to save money. Or just give you the shaft and up your rates.
I just wanted to reiterate that you being lucky if your insurance company doesn't drop you wasn't "the stupidest comment made on this thread."
It's actually a valid point.

that's what tickets are for.
but i believe street racing is a felony close to reckless driving....
completely different situation....

well i understand now, it was unclear in madspleens post that they were rated on different accounts (i know reckless op and speeding and the differences and stuff like that, just didn't really ponder on it) he just made it seem like since it was an illegal act, his car should get taken away, and that made me think well then everyones car should be taken away.
none the less, i don't see any problem in this thread... he's not complaining about it, he's telling us about it... but either way... i agree with the OP i don't like cops (not because they did their job in this specific example) but because of my expierience with them here.

things can be handled differently though. when i was held the officer let me have my phone to make calls so i could get out that day instead of after the weekend. AND i was 2 hours away from anyone i knew. so in turn i actually don't have any complaints about that cop. he saved me an entire weekend by doing something outside procedure.
Another cop, stopped me and ticketed me for "passing at 52 in a 35" when i was actually swerving around an old person who pulled out in front of me and i stomped on it to keep from getting t-boned i my mom's jetta.
there just so happened to be a motorcycle cop that already pulled one car over right there who waved me to the side. i thought good this old asshole is gonna lose his license because he is practically blind. but no. I get 4 points and a $208.50 ticket. I don't like THAT cop.
