To go fast, I knew what was involved and I knew what to expect but I also built it to get away, unfortunately I wasn't the one driving.

My car is gone for 7 days boo hoo the only thing I was complaining about was missing my tune because I've been waiting for it for awhile.

P.S..... My TurboXS RFL just showed up 10 minutes ago

He also knew the consequences regardless that he's not taking it as well as I was (he complained to the cops a lot).... While he was doing that, I took out my deck, my turbo timer, and my ecu.

    Outcomes:
    ME;
    1) Impounded car for 7 days hopefully it comes out without scratches and dents
    2) Miss my tune
    3) Gotta pay impounding fee's

    HIM;
    1) Street racing ticket outcome of that being:
    2) Small fine
    3) Record of it on his license
    4) Higher insurance rates
He's not going to pay your impound fee's? Oh man.

person who's driving gets the ticket. Ticket goes on their Drivers Abstract, and their insurance rates will be affected by it.

pray that the insurance company who your with does not drop you. Things could be worse you could be in jail right now being held hostage without being able to speak out.

Why would insurance drop me, rofl..... That was just about the stupidest comment made in this thread. I just stated the outcomes, insurance has nothing to do with this Period. Not even his insurance company, the only thing they'll see is when it eventually goes on his record they'll see it.

Umm.... Your car.... Racing.... BUILT TO RACE.... Insurance companies have the right ti inspect you car of any modifications to it and can deem it necessary to drop you because your car is TOO CUSTOM to be considered for their policies. They insure daily drivers... that's why everyone with a honda pays a little less than if not.

Your car would technically need to be insured by a company that will cover ALL COMPONENTS in it and being custom they would have to cover it for the total amount put into the car.

Race cars are a bitch to insure BTW...

Yeah my insurance company wanted to drop me because i thought my car had airbags and ABS but didn't. Instead they altered the policy for me.

BUT you may not have the same problem in Canada... IDK.

Ok did you also miss the part that this has nothing to do with my insurance company......?? Clearly they've already insured me.

but that doesn't mean that they don't get memos from the government about what your car is doing. and if they do sent that info to the insurance company they will find you a hazard and drop you to prevent any payouts for your vehicle being damaged due to racing.

They want to never pay you but take your money. If they think you are more likely to get into an accident than someone else they can drop you to save money. Or just give you the shaft and up your rates.

I just wanted to reiterate that you being lucky if your insurance company doesn't drop you wasn't "the stupidest comment made on this thread."

                    It's actually a valid point.

if they're doing their job so well then why isn't all of our cars off the road? because we all know every single one of us is guilty for speeding, which is an illegal act i'm sure you know.

An illegal act YES but one punishable by crushing a car? NO

                        that's what tickets are for.

but i believe street racing is a felony close to reckless driving....

                        completely different situation....

well i understand now, it was unclear in madspleens post that they were rated on different accounts (i know reckless op and speeding and the differences and stuff like that, just didn't really ponder on it) he just made it seem like since it was an illegal act, his car should get taken away, and that made me think well then everyones car should be taken away.

none the less, i don't see any problem in this thread... he's not complaining about it, he's telling us about it... but either way... i agree with the OP i don't like cops (not because they did their job in this specific example) but because of my expierience with them here.

Now i find that at least a reasonable argument but i would say "those cops"

things can be handled differently though. when i was held the officer let me have my phone to make calls so i could get out that day instead of after the weekend. AND i was 2 hours away from anyone i knew. so in turn i actually don't have any complaints about that cop. he saved me an entire weekend by doing something outside procedure.

Another cop, stopped me and ticketed me for "passing at 52 in a 35" when i was actually swerving around an old person who pulled out in front of me and i stomped on it to keep from getting t-boned i my mom's jetta.

there just so happened to be a motorcycle cop that already pulled one car over right there who waved me to the side. i thought good this old asshole is gonna lose his license because he is practically blind. but no. I get 4 points and a $208.50 ticket. I don't like THAT cop.

                              A lesson to be learned.

Edit: Street racing is still under the HTA. I got charged with Dangerous which is under the criminal code.
