But your car was impounded for a legitimate reason. You knew the risks involved when you went to the races. Your car was caught and seized. Maybe it wasnt fully your fault. I dont really care. One of my cars was impounded the other night because someone else fucked up, I dealt with it accordingly. You should too.

Protecting the innocent. Thats according to some not all it strongly depends on the officer. Some actually do their job others abuse it as if they are above the law.

According to some? No thats according to anyone not involved in the street race. If I am driving along on my way home and I am hit by a street racer I am the innocent party. I had nothing to do with the situation until it found me do to no will of my own.

MOST Police officers do their job, yes there are still some that can and do abuse their power but that is becoming much harder to do with all the advances in technology.

Honda still did little to the street racing scene. Honda provided the US with more fuel efficient vehicles. If you think any of the first Honda's imported to this country were brought here for the purpose of street racing you are mistaken. Look at the first imported Hondas, No V8's there. Nothing that would stand a chance to the Muscle cars of the time.

Street racing has its roots in the mid/late 50's with Domestic muscle cars. V8's. Honda was sucked into street racing as gas prices increased, the price of a V8 equipped vehicle increased, insurance rates increased, and more people started looking for fuel economy over performance. Honda has had some race inspired vehicles but many of the vehicles that are widely street raced that are Honda's are Civics (CRX, Del Sol), at least around here. Those were not intended to be "race cars." Because of the cost to attain one and then modify, and maintain, in the long run can be cheaper then a V8.

If Honda did anything for street racing, it slowed it down, for a time at least. And again it is because of young and/or immature drivers that think they have a "race car" is the reason that street racing has been cracked down on so hard by Police.

You can not expect an activity to go on that endangers the general innocent public.

The Muscle car folks that started street racing got tired of the little 4 banger "race cars" and took their V8's elsewhere.

that civic was his property, however u personally feel about it is irrelevant.

a case like this seems border line, but in most cases im sure its justified.

however ive heard that they can take ur car for suspicion of street racing up there.... and crush it? can anyne confirm this? if so that is absolutely ridiculous.

and theres good cops and bad cops just like there are good and bad people in every profession. i dont mean corrupt necessarily, just may not use the best judgment, and go about things maybe not the best way.

I would agree with saying that the right thing was done. You lost the car for now but you have the chance to get it back. However slim it may be.

But you may be able to out run a Crown Vic but you can out run a radio. and cops study vehicle identification so they would have gotten you sooner or later.

Better for you now though because if they got you later and you were driving then it would be you under the hammer and not your friend.

Granted if it was a big event then MAYBE you could have come out clean and gotten lucky but like you said, "If i was asked if i would do it again, my answer would be yes"

i can confirm in ontario at least if you get caught 50 km over it is 10,000 cdn fine, roadside suspension of license and a ride in a police car w/ complimentary impound.

Why would anyone street race

It's been like 20 years since FnF came out

They have specialized police units whose whole purpose is to arrest street racers and impound their cars

Of course I have taken part in a stoplight squabble here and there and even used to go to the street races, but I knew if I didn't stop eventually

-I would get killed
-I would get arrested
-I would lose my car

They didn't take your car, you gave it away. Sorry about your loss but use your head next time.

Well said, No where am I complaining about anything, even the past police brutality acts I've been involved in and landed in jail. I built the car for a reason.... To go fast, I knew what was involved and I knew what to expect but I also built it to get away, unfortunately I wasn't the one driving.

My car is gone for 7 days boo hoo the only thing I was complaining about was missing my tune because I've been waiting for it for awhile.

He also knew the consequences regardless that he's not taking it as well as I was (he complained to the cops a lot).... While he was doing that, I took out my deck, my turbo timer, and my ecu.

1) Impounded car for 7 days hopefully it comes out without scratches and dents
2) Miss my tune
3) Gotta pay impounding fee's

1) Street racing ticket outcome of that being:

3) Record of it on his license
