    GT4 Nordschleife challenge

I know there has to be a lot of us that has Gran Turismo 4 for the PS2. Lets start a little challenge using the famed Nurburgring Nordschleife as the track.

This will be a spec kind of competition, same car, same settings, same track.

We will do 1 car a week, for 8 weeks. Starting from low power, fairly easy to drive cars, and getting more and more difficult.

So pop GT4 in and go to arcade and do a time trial. You can do as many laps as you want, then post the time up here.
    Any quick tuning is allowed.

    Week 1:
Spoon Sports 2004 Honda Fit Race Car

    Leaderboard:
    1. vietkid_2006 - 8'16.007
    2. The G-Man - 8'43.394
    3. 460sx - 8'56.305.
    4. 91 EX-R - 9'01.572

I will adjust the leader board as people add times, and the car change will be posted next Tuesday.

This was my first lap in the Fit, I am sure I can bring the times down.

I wasn't directing that comment towards you Gary!

I can just think of a few members who probably don't even own the game and would just post up numbers.

I have never played forza 2. Does it have Nurburgring?

Well, I intended on adding a picture, but you beat me.

I did lower my time by a lot though.

That wasn't even a clean lap either.

Forza 2 does have the ring, but its ever so slightly different. Ive spent months of my life playing both games and Ive noticed little differences in the tracks, let alone the obvious physics differences.

Id add a couple more rules. Any modifications? What about tuning? Allowed or keep it stock spec?

Can you modify in Arcade Mode? I don't think I ever played Arcade

I say we stay stock, if we have the option to mod. Keep it a competition between drivers for now. We can always up it to include tuning ability once we've gotten tired of driving the same cars!

Gary, this is a fantastic idea

I'll be getting my PS2 and GT4 back from my friend later this week.

wat me and my cousins would do is have a horse power category for each drivetrain layout.

example 160-200hp range FR and FF
                        200-240hp
and so one till we got to the 1000hp range

all cars are production cars too so no JGTC and that kinda super stuff

the tuning is wat usually let this competition go downhill because GT4 cars dont SHOW that they are modded.. unless u drive them or look at the specs in the menus. but at the track its a total sleeper. ill go see wat my current times are at the ring and try to post it up

p.s. this is the awesomest idea evar

I just did a 9.03.xx followed by an 8:56.305. All I did was lengthen the final drive and tweak the shocks and camber. I still have a three or four spots to clean up. I wasnt used to the car for the first minute and a half of the first lap, then I pushed it too hard on the second and hit a few walls.

I think Ill go ahead and start the 8 minute club

PS, Ive practically lived on the nurburgring in Forza/Forza 2 for weeks on end. Only track Id run. Just such an epic course.

So we are allowed to make adjusments to and tune the car's current parts, correct?

I'll be playing later tonight after not touching this game for over a year.
