i ran out while driving to a gas station...the rpm kept getting low so i could tell the gas wasnt flowing right...then the car stalled as i was pulling into a parking lot and i lost power steering and brakes...it wasnt good, but i got it to start again and i made it to a gas station! it was pretty weird...

1st and hopefully the last time when engine stalled while i was on the fast lane on 60E.. still managed to get it on the right shoulder though.. thought it would be the perfect reason to get a swap since i knew how much gas was in the reserve, and the guage still reads halfway below 1/4.. so it had to be the engine.. highway patrol called for a free tow truck only to find out a fucked fuel guage and gave me a free gallon of gas to get me to the nearest station..

hhmm weird, i have 3 gallons reserve......my tank holds 17 gallons of fuel, when my gas light comes on it takes 14 gallons to fill it up,so that means i have 3 gallons of reserve, also my owners manual says 3 gallons as well. i have ran out once and it scared the shit out of me because i didnt have my guages hooked up so i kept putting like 3 bucks in a day and i decided i could probably make it to the next station and it sputterd than died, i didnt try to restart it because with fuel injected you dont want to suck up all the nasty shit so i pulled off the road called my bro and 25 mins later i had 2 gallons of gas, of course i went right to the nearest station and filled her up.($27) yes yes gas prices were like $2.05 a fucking gallon

The gas light can be pretty trickey at times. Sometimes it will come on with the lever a good amount above the e line. Like maybe the angle your sitting at. If your running low and way sometimes you can check it is by taking a hard left and let the feul sway towards the sensor, some times it will go right off. I ran out of gas once with my old engine on the highway, it starting puttering, I punched it to get enough momentum to make it to the next gas station. Coasted in there pulled a gas run and was out. But this is when I was a bad boy and would rather spend my money on other things.

The only time i've seen my gas light was when i was waiting for it because i wanted to know if it worked. Well it did work i saw it on the drive home one day and the next day my car wouldn't start. popped it into neutral rolled it off the driveway and it started. Most of the time i fill up every few days i never let my cars run near empty unless im getting ready for smog check then i gotta add some stuff.

Id just go to a decent gasstation beware of the ones thats cheap they use watered down gas some of em that dont look legit. I hate the gasstations that have the pump that looks all out of date I just take the next one when your driving at e just drive very slow resist the temptation to run it hard for a race.

Definitley never let your tank get to the point of where the light comes on!!
2 years ago, i did that all the time and finally my car never wanted to start because all the soot that sits at the bottom of the tank gets sucked up through the pump, filter, and eventually into the motor.
I had to take my car to a Honda dealer, and they had to rebuild the motor, and they also showed me the inside of my gas tank and let me tell you guys that it wasnt pretty! It resembled black honey and had a really bad odor!
When u let your tank go to the bottom, this stuff gets sucked up by your fuel pump and causes all kinds of problems!
So take this as a warning!! Im sure all of you guys would prefer to spend the $2-$3000 on something better for your car.

Wow. Jeff, you have to be the first one I've heard of that actually had damage due to the crap in your gas tank. People have always told me that it can do damage, but I never heard a firsthand account.
I never let the CB7 run out of gas, though I do push it from time to time. No VTEC when the light is on! I suppose I should take better care of the H22 before I blow it. Is it possible to clean out your gas tank? Or have it cleaned?
In my old Chevy Cavalier wagon (the car that I had before the CB7) I ran out once. The gauge was off, and it was my 3rd day with the car. Of course it had to happen in the sleet/snw/rain/shit mixture that was falling... Some nice guy in a pickup truck pushed me out of the road, and I called my mom. As an afterthought, I asked her to bring the nearly-empty tank of year-old lawnmower gas... I poured it all in (about a cup of gas ) and it worked. I drove the the gas station a few blocks away, and I stalled just as I rolled up to the pump.
A week later the entire electrical system went, so I scrapped that POS and bought the Accord.

U guys have to remember that i rarely ( for some stupid reason) never filled my tank 100% and always let it run to almost nothing.
I had bought this car 6 months previous to this happening.
When i bought the car, it had about 98,000 miles on it and i always used cheapie gas........ which is the other red flag.
Running cheap gas and letting it go dry is a equation for what i went thru.
So keep those tanks full!!!!
