yea im pretty sure some rare people use 56k.

when we post picture threads that say "sorry no 56k, 56k take a dump, 56k go bake some bread" is it really that necessary anymore since probably most of us has broadband speed connection?

What I've found is that there are almost no people out there who use 56k anymore.

HOWEVER, there are a number of people (me included) who sometimes are using a connection that is less than stellar. For example, my place here in Birmingham has wireless but it blows hard most of the time. I have to wait 30 minutes to load like 1 youtube video (that's if it even loads).

              Just googled it.

13% of Americans have 56K or no internet at all.

i think a large number of that 13% is "no internet at all."

its due to the fast expansion and relative affordability of broad band connections plus alot of companys offer the package deals so people just do that. I think 56k was just so inconvenient that it helped push the broadband movement that much faster.

In my area, DSL is cheaper than dial-up. I think that's the only real reason I finally got off of it at home.

I have 56k. And I love the sound the modem makes as it dials me in to this world.

Just kidding, I have FIOS which is ok I guess.
