It's hard to find an SC300 or SC400 in good shape for a low price. You can find them cheap, but they end up being more expensive after repairs are done. I have a friend that got a cheap one (SC300), but it needed a head gasket immediately (Toyota I6s love to blow head gaskets it seems!)
The LS400 is more impressive in person than in pictures, IMO. I'm not a huge fan of it, but I saw one on the road yesterday, and I could probably make myself happy with one.

Their emissions standards are fairly strict, but they're not the same. We like to be anal about our emissions, like we're actually doing something about reducing pollution. Plus, Japan runs a higher octane than we do... so what runs properly and cleanly over there will probably spew filth over here with our pisswater.
back on topic... lexus should do the mark II like they did the soarer/sc300 thats all
