      If you live in a "right to work" state, an employer can fire you without a reason or fair warning. you can also quit at any time without reason or fair warning.

      kinda sucks.

      good luck finding a new job, I'm sure you'll get one.

                  that(90hrs) wasnt every week,then you have to look at insurance,$280/week,taxes.401k,chritmas club all your normal deductions. It wasnt a union job$18.00/hr was all I was getting. gross pay was nice,but actual take home sucked,last week for instance 30hrs overtime, borought home $700+. so next time you want to rag on someone think first, Va is a right to work state,he doesnt have to give a reason which sucks. But thats alright,with all the epa violations,osha violations,and city code violations up at the company, after I finish turning them into those groups, I'll get my satisfaction of knowing I cost him some major fines

                      I know exactly how you feel. They did the same to me at Ferrari. They just let me go, I was not fired for any perticular reason. My manager just said, business was just sooooo slow 'cause of the economy, so he had to let me go. He said he didn't want to though. I know it must be super crazy. I'm going through it right now, and hopefully you will not have to. Keep your head up, and be very strong. Good luck.

North Carolina is a 'free will' state.. when you apply for a job, at lets say, Target... you have to sign a paper during the hire process which you give consent and an understanding to the fact "that the company may choose to terminate your job for no reason, with no explination" very *** indeed.

                              There are quite a few states that are "Right-to-work" states, aka "right to hire/right to fire" the companies operating in these states can fire you for giving them a funny look or walking in without your shirt tucked in. They do give reasons usually, this one being "services no longer required." This sucks, I know. Go to the unemployment office with your separation notice and file. Good luck man.

                                It always sucks bro... i worked at circuit city for a while and about 2/3 through my time spent there, the manager that hired me, a new manager that was a good friend when he installed with me and the new GM all took me into a room and said that my services are no longer needed.....

                                i flat out said "what the fuck" i asked why they felt that way and i they said i had been showing poor performance for my entire employment. Then i asked them who said that about me because i jumped departments A LOT and my current supervisor always asked me to reconsider.

                                I know one thing and that it when i work i actually work. if i do something wrong then i am told and i fix it once and it doesn't happen again. I know that i am NOT a poor performer.

                                i told them to ask everyone i worked with their opinion and to call me when they make their decision on that, and if i didn't get a call back then i was going to sue the for pay they owed me for wrongly cutting my pay without warning or reason. Something i had a file in an HR office with names and jobs on the line pending a lawsuit if it wasn't fixed.

                                I kept my job a while until i got into a motorcycle accident and pick up a job at Best Buy for more money.

                                But that's just how i am. i couldn't go through something like that without being told why because then i have no way of improving what i was lacking at...
