I think you would be just as safe as in any other car. Yes the lack of the a hard body would make it more suseptable to impact damage, but I am sure, if it does go into production, the bracing behinfd the cloth will make up for it. Though, I do like it, I would be more worried that after long periods of operation the cloth over the engine may melt.

In cars today, the sheet metal doesn't have all that much to do with impact defense. It's the structural bracing that matters the most. This car still has that.
